₹ 2.16 lakh crore decrease in mcap of seven out of top-10 companies; Big blow to RIL, SBI

Market valuations of seven of India’s ten most valuable companies fell below this 2,16,092.54 crore last week led by Reliance Industries Ltd and State Bank of India.

Sensex lost 1,290.87 points or 2.12 percent. Among the top 10 firms, it was HDFC bank, Infosys, ICICI Bank, HDFC and Bharti Airtel which were among the top-10 laggards. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Hindustan Unilever Limited and ITC emerged as winners.

RIL’s market valuation (Mcap) has fallen the most 71,003.2 crore from 15,81,601.11 crores.

At the same time, there was a decline in the valuation of banking sector giant State Bank of India. 46,318.73 crore from 4,82,107.53 crores.

Private lender ICICI Bank’s mcap was down 36,836.03 crore from 5,70,509.34 crores.

HDFC Bank’s valuation dropped 24,899.93 crore from 9,01,287.61 crore and Bharti Airtel incurred a loss 23,747.55 crores from 4,31,583.22 crores.

hdfc mcap down 10,257.28 crores from 4,85,809.79 crore and Infosys slipped 3,029.82 crores from 6,38,891.87 crores.

On the other hand, IT giant TCS added 17,837.88 crore, which valued it 12,47,882.88 crores.

Hindustan Unilever’s mcap jumps 14,931.65 crore from 6,13,689.74 crore and ITC has gone up 13,591.48 crores from 4,29,031.46 crores.

Reliance Industries remained the most valuable company in the ranking of top-10 firms, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, ICICI Bank, HDFC, State Bank of India, Airtel and ITC.
