A start-up grant of ₹ 6.75 lakh was distributed by Collector V. Jayachandra Bhanu Reddy under Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project at the Collectorate.
In Krishnagiri, the project is being implemented in three blocks of Kaveripattinam, Bargur and Krishagiri.
The collector distributed an amount of ₹75,000 to each of the nine clusters, which is in the form of a cumulative disbursement of ₹6.75 lakh. The funds will be used by the enterprise groups for purchase of raw materials, working capital etc. Beneficiary groups are involved in a number of production activities, including palm jaggery production, broom production, copra trading, coconut thatch weaving and mango cultivation.
