10-year-old girl cycled from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in just 38 days

In just 838 days, a 10-year-old girl from Maharashtra covered 3,600 km from Kashmir to Kanyakumari by bicycle. Even before this, she had set several records for cycling and swimming between cities in Maharashtra.

With a dream to complete this journey, Sai Patil has been practicing since the lockdown and will cover a distance of 50 km during each practice session. He started showing interest in these activities from the age of 6.

“Sai is dedicated towards her goal and follows the routine thoroughly. A student of Shrima Vidyalaya, she aimed for this journey and has been practicing for over a year, as well as completing her school homework and other activities. Last year also, she had gone to Ladakh alone,” said her father Ashish Patil.

This time, she accompanied her father from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, a journey that was completed in 38 days, cycling over 120 km per day. Both started their journey on 16 December.

Patil said, “He plans to start an East to West cycle journey in India and later cycle from India to Russia. We will gradually accomplish this goal by taking proper rest. People in many areas of Maharashtra have shown his bravery. And congratulated him for his dedication. We are really proud of him.”
