13 districts of Tamil Nadu registered marginal increase in fresh Covid cases. Coimbatore News – Times of India

Chennai: Fresh Cases Tamil Nadu The number of fresh cases decreased from 1,192 on Monday to 1,179 on Tuesday after a marginal increase in 13 districts in the last 24 hours.
Chennai continued to record the highest number of new cases in the city with 156 new cases. In the last 24 hours, the cases have increased from 150 on Monday. While Chennai was followed by Coimbatore, there was a decline in 127 cases out of 130 cases reported on Monday.

The sharpest increase, however, was reported by Chengalpet, where the fresh cases rose to 98 as compared to 87 on Monday.
At least 23 districts each reported less than 20 cases, of which nine reported cases in single digits. While Virudhunagar reported three cases, Tenkasi and Ariyalur reported four and five new cases.
While 16 deaths took the cumulative toll to 35,928, the total cases touched 26.89 lakh. At the end of the day, after 1,407 discharges, there were 14,326 people on the list of active cases. Out of 16 deaths, three in Chennai, two each in Tiruppur Trichy, one each in nine districts – Coimbatore, Salem, Namakkal, Tiruvarur, Nilgiris, Tirunelveli, Sivagangai, Villupuram and Perambalur. All other districts reported zero deaths.
Active cases were in the four digits in three districts of Chennai (1771), Coimbatore (1506) and Chengalpet (1080). Tenkasi had 25 active cases – the lowest in the state – followed by Peramablur (25).
Meanwhile, 1.6 lakh people vaccinated in TN on Tuesday. This took the number of vaccine doses in government centers to 5.1 crore. At the same time, since May 1, 26.10 lakh people have taken the vaccine in private hospitals.
