15 Days To Go For Mahindra’s ‘Born Electric’ SUVs: Electric XUV Coming? – times of India

Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to unveil its new range of electric SUVs.Mahindra Born Electric‘ program on 15 August. Over the past few months, the automaker has shared several teaser videos that give a glimpse of the exciting products that are due to be unveiled. The electric SUV has been developed by the Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) facility in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom.

From what we have seen so far, Mahindra will unveil five new electric SUVs. The silhouette of an SUV, seen in a teaser, suggests a body style comparable to that of the XUV700. Two other SUVs with a coupe-like roofline were also teased. Reports also suggest that a fourth electric SUV will also be unveiled, which is likely to be the electric equivalent of the XUV300 compact SUV and may be called the XUV400. Mahindra had earlier announced that it plans to bring XUV400 EVs in India by the end of 2022.

Once unveiled, the XUV400 electric SUV is expected to be launched in September 2022. The XUV400 will compete against the Tata Nexon EV Prime and EV Max when it goes on sale. It will also compete with the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona electric SUV. Leading the ‘Born Electric’ program and MADE facility in Europe, the Chief Designer, Pratap Bose, A five-door version of the Thar 4X4 off-roader is on the cards for Mahindra as well.
