Budapest: David PopovicA 17-year-old, received her second gold medal Swimming World Championships On Wednesday, while 15-year-old Summer McIntosh won her first.
Popovici, who became the first Romanian man to win a world title by winning the 200m free, made another collection with a late surge.
“Now I get some rest even when I’m on my feet,” he said.
“I feel good, I’m glad I’ve got two golds now, I think they’ll be too heavy to carry.”
Canada’s McIntosh broke the world junior record by winning a silver medal in the 400m freestyle on day one.

Olympic Gold Medalist Rivals Caleb Dressel Entered the 100 m, but after winning his heat at a slower pace than Popovici withdrew from the championship before the final for unspecified health reasons.
Popovici started the last lap, trailing Canada’s Joshua Leando, but accelerated past and then dismissed Frenchman Maxime Grouset down the line.
Popovici beat Grouset by 0.6s and Leando by 0.13s.
His time of 47.58 was just shy of the world junior record he had set in the heats.
“It hurt a little more, I think I was more tired, I felt more nervous, but I’m glad it’s over and I’m relaxed.”
He matched the time of Kyle Chalmers of Australia, who was 17 when he won the gold medal in Rio.
“That was what I was thinking about, the first thought that came to mind is not the best I can do, but of course still a fast time,” Popovici said.
He was asked if he had intimidated Dressel.
“I don’t think so, I think he’s too big of a guy who can’t run away from anyone or anything like me, but I hope he’s okay and I hope he comes back stronger. ”
Mackintosh beat US’s Hali Flickinger by 0.88 s to place China’s Zhang Yufei in third place.
Mackintosh said, “I literally gave it my all and whatever I could, and put all my energy and all my attention, and stretched for the wall and put my hand on the wall as much as I could.”
