1,700 vaccinations at home in Surat | Surat News – Times of India

Surat: As part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign across the country, around 1,700 people were vaccinated for COVID-19 at their homes.
About 110 health department teams of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) were involved in this campaign on Wednesday.
SMC is focusing on areas where overall vaccination has been less as compared to other areas. As of Wednesday, 61 per cent of the target population has been vaccinated.
“Teams surveyed residential societies to find out the number of people who were not vaccinated. Through the survey, we can identify the societies,” said a health official. SMC had earlier launched ‘Knock the Door’ campaign in which health teams on call visited residential societies where more than 10 persons were available for vaccination. The campaign received a good response in mobilizing people and encouraging those who did not take the vaccine earlier.
“Teams were formed at each health center level. A large number of people are not coming forward for the second dose and this campaign will help them in getting vaccinated.
Against the target population, a total of 36.36 lakh people were vaccinated with the first dose while 20.94 lakh people were vaccinated with the second dose.
