Kolkata: Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court Prakash Srivastava on Thursday inaugurated Bengal̵
7;s first traffic e-court in Kolkata. 19,000 e-cases were registered by four guards at the start of e-courts.
Delivering his address virtually, Srivastava reminded everyone about the use of technology in the judiciary. “Today a significant step has been taken towards modernization of judiciary. During the pandemic, we realized the importance of technology in court where we functioned through virtual and hybrid mode. Once the e-invoice is generated, The SMS will go to the violator and he can log in and make the payment or fight the case.”
Joint CP (Traffic) Santosh Pandey said, “All pending cases which have not been paid will eventually reach the e-courts after a gap of 15 days.” Challans are being made from four guards- South, Headquarters, Howrah Bridge and Jorbagan.
