20 Injured After Greyhound Bus Veer Off Utah Highway

Salt Lake City: 20 people were injured when a Las Vegas-bound Greyhound bus rolled off a highway in central Utah. Officials gave this information on Tuesday.

Passengers injured in Monday night’s crash were taken to area hospitals with minor to severe injuries, but all were expected to survive, Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden said.

Roden said investigators are yet to know whether the Greyhound bus overturned and rolled onto the highway about 100 yards (91 meters) from the road.

Snow storms lashed many parts of the state Monday night, but Roden said road conditions were not too bad on the portion of Interstate 70 in Emery County where the accident occurred, although photos of the overturned bus showed snow on the ground.

Thirty-eight people were aboard the bus, including the driver. They said it had taken off from Green River, Utah and was on its way to Las Vegas.

Greyhound officials did not immediately return an email seeking comment about the accident.
