The update comes a year after the Lexus LS facelift debuted with cosmetic changes. The new updates are under the skin and the model continues to sport a bolder grille, sharper headlamps and a taller profile. The updated LS will also make its way to the Indian market sometime next year. The model competes with the likes of Audi A8 L, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and more in the segment.

The new Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 gets an enhanced lens camera and millimeter-wave radar to expand response and detection range

To begin with, the 2022 LS gets the new Lexus Safety System + 2.5 which comes with a few hardware and software upgrades. It includes an advanced lens camera and millimeter-wave radar elements to extend the response and detection range. The changes make pre-collision systems (PCS) more effective than ever. The PCS unit also includes Frontal Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Pedestrian Detection and Cyclist Detection. Meanwhile, premium Mark Levinson audio systems are now a standard feature, instead of being a check box on the options list.

The 2022 Lexus LS also now gets a revised suspension and chassis for the new model year. The modifications extend to spring and damper rates for better handling. There are thick anti-roll bars at the front and back which ought to create a more controlled body roll around the turn. Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) has been modified with linear solenoids and control valves for greater comfort. Other features and mechanics remain the same, with the power coming from the 3.5-litre V6 petrol hybrid motor.
