Mahindra Scorpio-N There is a new generation variant of the SUV and the recently released images already promise major changes. With more upmarket styling and premium interiors, the new Scorpio-N will be better in many ways. And now, a leaked document confirms that the model will be bigger than the current generation variant. The dimensions of the new Scorpio-N have been leaked through the owner’s manual and the SUV measures 4,662 mm in length, 1,917 mm in width and 1,870 mm in height. The wheelbase measures 2,750 mm. Compared to the current model, the SUV measures 206 mm in length and 97 mm in width, while the wheelbase of the Scorpio Classic has also increased by 70 mm.

This makes Mahindra Scorpio-N taller than the new-generation Tata Safari, which measures 4,661 mm in length, 1,894 mm in width, 1,786 mm in height and a wheelbase of 2,741 mm. Note that while the Scorpio and Safari were once direct rivals, the latter moved up the price ladder in its latest incarnation. Also, it is built on a monocoque chassis unlike the ladder-on-frame construction of the new Scorpio. It will be interesting to see how expensive the new Scorpio-N becomes.

That said, the SUV promises a more comfortable cabin than the current model, notably with better legroom and front seats in the third row. The leaked image also gives a glimpse of some of the features that we can expect on the model which include touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, twin-dial instrument cluster and more. The SUV will also get features like ESP, traction control, hill descent control, cruise control, sleep recognition and six airbags.

Ladder-on-frame construction continues to be used in the new generation Mahindra Scorpio-N
The new generation Mahindra Scorpio-N will be offered with a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine as well as the new 2.0-litre Stallion turbo petrol. Both the units will come with manual and automatic transmission. Mahindra will reveal all the details of the new Scorpio-N on June 27, when we also get to know the price.
