The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class looks and feels like a ‘Baby S’.

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is all set to hit the Indian roads today. The German brand will announce the prices of the new generation W206 C-Class shortly and it is a jump from the previous generation model in every aspect. It is longer and wider than before, which provides better space inside and even sits above the ground. The look has been developed to suit the new family design language, is actually reminiscent of the flagship S-Class and even on the inside, you get the “Baby S” meaning quite firmly in place.

The C-Class comes to us in two trims – the AMG Line and the Avant Garde – and the former gets two-tone AMG alloys, sharp bumpers and diffusers and a star-studded front grille.

The exterior features a pulled-back cab-rear design which looks good. The Avant Garde line on the C 200 and C 220d along with the power bulge on the bonnet and AMG trim on the C 300d make it the sexiest and most gorgeous C-Class ever. The new C-Class measures 65 mm in length and 25 mm in wheelbase, and is 7 mm higher from the ground than its predecessor. It is also 10 mm wider than the older model.

Well! This is the cabin of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class which is more expressive of the S-Class style. The new 11.9-inch vertical touchscreen is definitely a magnum opus and reminds you of the S-Class when you look at it. It gets the latest generation of MBUX based on the NTG7 and is a connected car, along with a slew of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features like Active Brake Assist and Active Parking Assist. The 12.3-inch instrument cluster also seems to be a direct lift from the ‘S’. The new Si also gets a feature called ‘Cars-to-X’, which is like a cars social network where Mercedes cars with MBUX can communicate with each other and share information on a real-time basis. Huh.

Any similarity in the design of the S-Class to the new generation C-Class is purely intentional.

The top-spec C 300d also gets Mercedes’ smart digital lights that use up to 1.3 million pixels for lighting and can be configured according to the direction of the traffic. The segment includes a premium Burmester sound system, ambient lighting, connected car telematics suite that works with the Mercedes Me app, wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Alexa or Google Home integration. All are on offer. That said, you still miss out on some feel-good features like ventilated seats and 360-degree camera view that you now expect from a car that will cost you upwards of ₹50 lakh.
