Geetharth Goswami, member secretary of the State Level Advisory Committee for Students and Youth Welfare, Assam, carried the trophy along with Tapan Kumar Das, general secretary of Assam Hockey.

The Assam Police commandos guarded the Gold and Platinum trophies and were received at the airport by Gayan-Bayan (a performance of the Vaishnava Sattriya tradition).

More than 1000 bikers and hundreds of vehicles accompanied the trophy.

As it passed through Gauhati University, students as well as faculty members of the University took out a procession.

The convoy later proceeded towards the hockey stadium in Bhatapara area of ​​the city, where the trophy was received by the players and officials.

He also had a halt at a gurudwara in Bashishtha area.

A formal reception was held by the state government at the Ganesh Mandir Indoor Stadium, with Assam ministers Jogen Mohan and Nandita Garlosa and Arunachal Pradesh minister Mama Natung attending the event.

The trophy was later handed over to the Jharkhand hockey officials for their trip to the eastern state at the Kamakhya temple complex.

Odisha is hosting the men’s FIH Hockey World Cup from January 13 to 29, 2023. The 21-day tour of the trophy, covering 13 states and one union territory, began from the host state, where it will also conclude on December 5.
