The Chennai Police Crime Branch-Crime Investigation Department (CB-CID) has arrested four more police officers in connection with the alleged custodial death of Vignesh. The CB-CID has already arrested two police officers.
The six police officers were booked under section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the SC/ST Atrocities Act. The arrests were made on the basis of the post-mortem report of the 25-year-old deceased.
The six police officers arrested have been identified as constable Munaf, Ponraj, head constable Kumar, home guard Deepak and two armed reserve (AR) constables.
