Four college girls have gone missing suspiciously from Karnataka’s Raichur town. The police gave this information on Monday.

Police have started their search in the neighboring states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The girls identified as Monika, Bhagyashree, Bhavani are studying in class 12th and Nandini studying in class 11th in Raichur Government Women’s College.

Police said the girls had gone missing four days ago. College principal Chandrashekhar said on Monday that according to the attendance register, the students have not attended classes for the last four days.

“The girls have gone missing from outside the college. Once they are inside the college campus it is our responsibility. I personally make rounds to keep alert among the students and my teachers also do the rounds. I appeal to parents not to panic and send their children to college,” he said.

School officials have also said that the girls did not attend classes regularly and were lagging behind in their studies. All four girls went missing on the same day.

The parents of the girls have lodged a complaint at Raichur Mahila Police Station.

Further details were awaited.
