40% quota in government jobs, 25% in police – Priyanka Gandhi releases ‘Women’s Manifesto’ for UP

Lucknow: Congress general secretary and the party’s UP in-charge, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday promised 40 per cent reservation for women in government jobs, while setting aside 25 per cent jobs in police for them if her party comes to power in the north. State.

The promises are part of a special manifesto, ‘Shakti Vidhan Mahila Ghoshna Patra’, which was released by Priyanka in Lucknow. In this, the Congress has also assured that it will give more than 40 percent of the tickets to women candidates for the 2022 assembly elections as mentioned earlier.

The manifesto also promised that 50 percent of PDS (Public Distribution System) shops would be allotted to women. Free mobile phones will be given to the girls who pass the 12th examination and electric scooters will be given to the women who have completed their graduation.

Priyanka told the media in Lucknow, “I met many girls who are unable to do their online studies due to not having a smartphone, and hence we are planning to give them free smartphones.”

He said the party has prepared a ‘women manifesto’ to empower them.

“We really want to empower them. We have to create an environment where the shackles of their opinion can be broken, where they can get full participation in politics and also in society, so that their exploitation can end.

The Women’s Manifesto states that the Congress aims to gradually increase the participation of women in politics to 50 percent. Under the provision of reservation, 40 percent tickets will be given to women.

Free LPG cylinder and Wi-Fi

The Congress women’s manifesto also promised that they would be given free travel in state transport buses and would get three LPG cylinders a year.

Girl students will also get free Wi-Fi facility at home, especially girl students from poor families.

Women will also be entitled to subsidized loans, empowered by the party to increase their participation in the rural workforce, and will be given preference under MGNREGA.

Talking about the highlights of the manifesto, Priyanka also said, “Congress gave the country the first woman PM. Sucheta Kriplani was the first woman CM. We had the first woman prime minister in our country when other countries had women at that level.” representation was very low.
