4. Tlasenica

This Slovenian pressed pork sausage, known as tlaसेनenica, originally from Croatia, is made from the cooked parts of a pig’s head meat, tongue, heart, cheeks and skin. It is seasoned with the species and stuffed to make sausage in the large intestine or stomach of a cleaned pig. It is then cooked and pressed.

5. Prekamurska Gibanica

Packed with poppy seeds, walnuts and apple fillings, cinnamon, and cheese, this Slovenian layered pastry cake is a must-try. Prekmurska Gibanica is popular in rural areas of the country.
