5 people working in ISRO canteen in Kerala killed in road accident

Alappuzha:

Five people were killed in an accident after a car rammed into a lorry near Ambalapuzha in Alappuzha district in the early hours of Monday.

The incident took place on the National Highway at around 1:30 pm.

The deceased have been identified as Prasad, Shiju, Amal, Sachin and Sumod.

The rice-laden lorry was on its way to Alappuzha from Andhra Pradesh when the accident took place.

The car involved in the accident was going towards Thiruvananthapuram.

According to police, out of five people traveling in the car, four died on the spot and one person died during treatment at the hospital.

The men were employed at the ISRO canteen in Thiruvananthapuram.

Four of them were from Thiruvananthapuram while one was from Kollam.

The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the Alappuzha Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.

The lorry driver and his helper have been taken into police custody.
