A 24-year-old man stabbed five policemen and a home guard to death on Wednesday inside the Cyber Cell police station in Shahdara.
Police said that the condition of four, including the home guard, is said to be stable, while a constable has been stabbed in the chest, whose condition is critical.
Police said the accused has been identified as Bharat Bhati, who came as the complainant and was armed with a knife. “He went to the third floor of the police station and started attacking the police personnel. While some ran for shelter, Bhati was eventually overpowered by some policemen present inside the station,” the police said. A senior official said that Bhati, a resident of Shahdara, has studied till class XII.
Delhi Police PRO Suman Nalwa said in an official statement, “He” [Bhati] All five police personnel and a home guard were stabbed. One police personnel has been sent to AIIMS Trauma Center and the other to GTB Hospital. All of them are undergoing treatment.”
