In a tweet, a software developer named Pranay Pathole, who has had several conversations with Musk in the past, said that Musk will primarily focus on five issues. These are meant to make the platform’s algorithm open source, meaning anyone can access Twitter’s code.
As Musk himself said earlier this week, he will also eliminate scam bots that have harmed the micro-blogging site. Earlier in a tweet, Musk said he would eliminate spambots on Twitter or “die trying.”
In addition, Musk will also work towards bringing the much-awaited editing feature that will give users the ability to edit their tweets after they have been posted. Musk has been in favor of the edit feature and started a Twitter poll right after he acquired his 9.2 percent stake, asking followers if Twitter should have an edit button.
Another thing the SpaceX CEO has been vocal about is its strict adherence to free speech. Musk has criticized the regulation strategy and features of the social media platform on several occasions, and would attempt to make the platform adhere to free speech if he gains control of Twitter. While Musk has criticized the rules and on several occasions expressed a desire to have a free speech platform, it will still need to work to curb misinformation, fake news and hate speech on Twitter.
