Untitled (Street View), 1947: Raza began his career with idyllic landscapes, cleverly executed in watercolor and depicting the Indian mainland. This was an early stage in the artist’s career and this untitled work was executed the same year he co-founded the Progressive Artists Group.

Passage Course, 1958: The work comes from the decade when Raza began the process of diluting tangible structure in his art. After 1958, his works rarely included the etching of a structure with no architectural lineage.

La Provence Noir, 1965: Raza’s expressionist work is spread in black. The artwork features thick strokes of black, while the suggested iridescent light is sculpted with sporadic application of white. The artist created this work just before he began searching for the source of the point.

La Terre, 1980: The work comes from the series ‘La Terre’, which symbolizes Raza’s long association with nature. This reflects the development of their vocabulary and is from an important transitional stage.
