BHUBANESWAR: Health officials have cautioned against dumping Covid safety measures (masks and social distancing) in view of the rise in daily infections in the state, with 51 new cases being reported on Sunday, the highest since May 9.
Health administrators said that many patients are still coming to Kovid hospitals and there is no room for complacency. “In case of large congregation, everyone should wear a mask so that no one gets infected. Those infected are complaining of mild symptoms, but in some cases it is coming out as severe. We haven’t had genome sequencing for a long time, but symptomatically, it seems that omicron type of covid,” said Bijay MohapatraDirector, Health Services.
