525 candidates passed from ITBP training center

A total of 525 constables passed out from the Recruit Training Center (RTC) of the elite Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) at Iluppaikudi in Sivaganga district on Tuesday.

Inspector General, Central Frontier, Sanjeev Raina took the salute and reviewed the passing out parade of the 476th General Duty Cadre Batch. He administered the oath to the officers who took a pledge to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty for the defense of the country.

Appreciating the quality of the parade, Mr. Raina stressed the need to prioritize the nation over its comfort.

The IG presented trophies to the recruits who stood first in endurance, drill, firing, physical fitness, weaponry, sports and overall best performance during training.

Later, while talking to the press, Mr. Raina said that the recruits were deployed in hostile areas in the north-eastern borders.

He said the force has taken some new training in weaponry, unarmed warfare, field engineering and police tactics.

After a colorful passing out parade, the soldiers displayed their skills in martial arts, physical training, aerobic exercise and an coordinated drill.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Ranbir Singh was present.

The event was attended by the families of constables who came out.

The recruits underwent 44 weeks of training in weapons handling, map reading, drill, karate, war craft, field craft, internal security, border security and disaster management.

The ITBP is an elite central armed police force created in 1962 to guard the nation’s borders after the India-China conflict.
