5th edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha today, PM Modi to interact with board candidates

The fifth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha will be held today, April 1. Students who are ready to appear for class 10 and 12 board exams will get a chance to interact directly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi. Selected students, parents, teachers and other stakeholders from class 9 to 12 will physically attend the program and rest can view it through various online modes.

Around 15.7 lakh participants registered for the creative writing competition. This event is being successfully organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education for the last four years. It was conducted in online mode on 7th April last year. The first three editions of Pariksha Pe Charcha were conducted in a town-hall interactive format in New Delhi.

The current batch is likely to address some of the major concerns regarding board exams, introduction of CUCET, JEE Main and a series of changes regarding NEET.

Over 12 lakh people had registered for the event this year. However, only selected students, parents and teachers who have won the Pariksha Pe Charcha 2021 contest will be able to ask questions and interact directly with PM Modi.

The program will be telecast on about 32 channels of Swayam Prabha including Doordarshan. It will also be streamed live on social media handles of PM Modi and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Ministry of Education. Interested can watch the video on YouTube. In addition, the winners will receive specially designed certificates, PPC kits and Prime Minister’s autograph-digital mementos. As per the available information, 1500 students, 250 teachers and 250 parents have been selected as the winners of the program out of all the applicants.

Last year, Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the struggle of students following the Covid-19-led school closures. “My perspective on COVID is that you have to face the consequences of a mistake you have not made. It is a lesson for life that sometimes life presents us with unimaginable challenges. I believe that the loss caused to the students and youth of the country is a huge loss. Loss of a full year at a young age is like a void in the foundation of a high-rise building,” he had said.
