6 arrested with old currency worth over Rs 4.50 crore in Uttarakhand

Dehradun:

Ahead of the assembly elections, the Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) conducted raids in Haridwar and detained half a dozen with old currency worth over Rs 4,50,00,000.

STF Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Singh told ANI, “Three people caught with Mudra are from Haridwar and rest are from Uttar Pradesh. Interrogation is on.”

Further investigation is being done.

Voting for the elections to the 70-member Uttarakhand Assembly is to be held on February 14. Counting of votes will take place on March 10.
