Ranveer singh He won the Best Actor (Male) award for his performance in ’83. The film is based on the iconic World Cup victory of the Indian cricket team in the year 1983. Ranveer played the character of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev in the film. On the other hand, Kriti Sanon Won the Best Actor (Female) award for ‘Mimi’. In the film, the actress played the role of a woman who chooses to be a surrogate mother to an exotic couple.
On receiving the award, Ranveer thanked director Kabir Khan. His actress-wife Deepika Padukone also joined him on stage. Kriti, on the other hand, said that Pankaj Tripathi is her lucky charm and they share a ‘very special relationship’.
Meanwhile, apart from the celebs, Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis also attended the award night. At the event, he said, “It’s great to see Filmfare after 2 years (on the ground). A very warm welcome to everyone present today.”
