Telecom operators around the world are building up steam in the 5G sector, but they are also focusing on bringing 6G mobile networks to market before 2030.

While 5G network is not yet available worldwide, Pekka Lundmark, CEO of global smartphone brand Nokia has claimed that 6G mobile network will be commercially available by 2030.

speaking in World As reported by GizmoChina, the economic forum in Davos, Lundmark mentioned that he does not believe that smartphones will be the “most common interface”.

“By then, certainly the smartphone as we know it today will no longer be the most common interface,” Lundmark said.

“Many of these things will build up directly in our bodies,” he said.

Lundmark did not elaborate on what or what it would look like, but he did say that by 2030, there would be a “digital twin of everything”, which would require “huge computational resources”.

The report said that companies have already started investing heavily in 6G.

Some of the world’s biggest tech giants, such as Qualcomm, Apple, Google and LG, are seen to participate and even collaborate in this next generation of technology.
