Surat/Vadodara: In Surat, 75 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in the city limits, while 38 fresh infections were detected in the district. The highest number of 19 cases were registered in Rander in the city.
A bulletin issued by the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) said 81 people were discharged on Sunday, while there were 503 active cases, of which 19 were hospitalised.
A day after a major spike in Covid-19 cases, fresh infections in Vadodara city and district dipped on Saturday.
On Saturday, Vadodara reported 53 new Covid-19 cases, much less than the 78 reported on Friday.
In 24 hours starting Friday evening, 53 fresh cases were found out of 2,205 samples. With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic has gone up to 1,35,841.

The official death toll was 757. 61 patients were discharged on Saturday, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,34,729.
The number of active cases is 355.
