7,738 test COVID positive in Kerala; Toll cross 30,000 | Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

Thiruvananthapuram: The state witnessed 7,738 positive cases out of 76,043 samples tested in the last 24 hours. Of the new cases detected, 6,491 people have taken the vaccination, 2,734 have taken both doses, and 1,984 have not received a single dose.
The total active cases currently stand at 78,122, of which 8.8% are either admitted in hospitals or other treatment centres.
Meanwhile, 56 covid The deaths were confirmed, taking the number of related deaths in the state to 30,685. At the same time, 5,460 patients have recovered from the disease.
Of the new cases, 7,375 cases have been infected by local spread. The contact source of infection could not be traced for 286.
Ernakulam recorded the highest number of 1,298 cases, followed by Thiruvananthapuram (1,089), Thrissur (836), Kozhikode (759).
A total of 2,68,223 persons are currently under observation in various districts of the state, of which 2,60,318 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres, and 7,905 are in isolation in hospitals.
The WIPR is more than 10% in 211 wards of 158 local bodies as per the weekly infection population ratio. Strict lockdown restrictions have been implemented in these wards.
