8 out of top 10 companies lose ₹1 lakh crore in mcap; Infosys, TCS biggest losers

Eight of the top 10 most valuable firms suffered combined declines 1,06,991.42 crore in market valuation last week, with HDFC Bank taking the biggest hit, along with IT major Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services.

Last week, the Sensex had declined 940.37 points or 1.55 per cent.

Barring Hindustan Unilever and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), eight firms faced erosion from their market capitalization (MCAP).

Infosys’ market valuation fell 25,185.37 crore from 6,09,687.79 crore, highest among top 10 firms.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) valuation has declined 17,289.02 crores from 11,75,287.30 crore and ICICI Bank decreased 14,447.69 crores from 6,07,140.65 crores.

Market valuation of State Bank of India fell 11,245.01 crore from 5,36,012.18 crores.

HDFC’s valuation has come down 7,419.45 crores from 4,74,018.02 crore and that of Reliance Industries Ltd. fell 7,408.2 crore from 17,16,571.25 crores.

mcap of bharti airtel dropped 5,621.27 crores from 4,43,356.45 crores.

However, LIC added 14,105.09 crore, taking its valuation 4,47,114.09 crores.

Hindustan Unilever’s mcap jumps 4,053.05 crore from 6,05,489.67 crores.

Reliance Industries remained the most valued firm, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Unilever, State Bank of India, HDFC, LIC and Bharti Airtel.
