The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has convened a meeting on Thursday to deliberate on easing restrictions in the national capital in view of the improved COVID-19 situation. The issue of reopening schools is also on the agenda.
“In the last two years, the life of school children has been confined to their rooms. Instead of going to school and spending time in playgrounds, all their activities are now done only on mobile phones.
“Pandemic-induced school closures have not only affected their studies but their mental health as well. During COVID, our priority was the safety of the children. But since now various researches have found that COVID is not so harmful for the children. So it is important to reopen schools, because now is the time for exams and related preparations,” Sisodia said.
