Tennis legend Roger Federer announced that he will retire from the sport after the Laver Cup this month. The 20-time Grand Slam champion called it a bitter decision. Federer said, “The last three years have given me challenges in the form of injuries and surgeries. I have worked hard to return to full competitive form. But I also know the capabilities and limits of my body, and its message has only recently become clear to me. I am 41 years old. I have played more than 1,500 matches in 24 years. Tennis has treated me more generously than ever before, and now I have to recognize when it’s time to end my competitive career. ,
