Air India on Thursday banned passenger Shankar Mishra for four months for the incident on November 26 last year. The ban was expected to be in addition to the 30-day ban on him. The incident came to the notice of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on January 4 and field action is in place for violations of various directions.

He was sacked from his job by the American banking giant Wells Fargo. Shankar Mishra was allegedly drunk while traveling from New York to New Delhi in an Air India flight on November 26, 2022, when he allegedly unzipped his pants and accosted a 72-year-old woman seated in business class.
