The United Arab Emirates has informed the United States that it will suspend discussions to acquire US-made F-35 fighter jets, a United Arab Emirates official said on Tuesday, part of a $23 billion deal that includes Drones and other advanced weapons are also included.
“Technical requirements, sovereign operating restrictions and cost/benefit analysis led to the revaluation,” the official said in a statement to Reuters. Discussions “may be reopened in the future” for the F-35 aircraft.
