A Mini Guide on How to Update Head of Family in Aadhaar Card Online

Unique Identification Authority of India provides a facility where a person can update the address in Aadhaar card online with the permission of the head of the family. This will ultimately help the citizens to provide assistance in case of lack of their parent’s name, spouse’s name and more. Here is a guide on how to update the head of the family in Aadhaar online:

Phase 1. Go to My Aadhaar Portal. (https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in)

Phase 2. Go to the Update Address tab.

step 3. Now, enter the valid Aadhaar number for the head of the household.

step 4. Upload the proof of relationship document after the Aadhaar number of the head of the family is validated.

Step 5. A service request number will be sent to you after successful transaction of 50, and the head of the household will receive an alert through SMS of the request for the address.

Step 6. If the request is approved by signing in to the My Aadhaar portal within 30 days of the receipt of the alert, the request will be processed.

Meanwhile, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has recently issued a guideline regarding the Aadhaar card of children, which is called Child Aadhaar. According to the latest guidelines issued by the authority, it is mandatory to update biometric information in the Aadhaar data of children between the age of five and 15 years.

Recently, UIDAI had informed by tweeting that it is mandatory to update biometric details of children aged 5-15 years and the process of doing so is free. Further, the authority in another tweet announced that there will be no change in the child’s Aadhaar number after updating the biometrics. Therefore, the authority has informed the parents to visit the nearest Aadhaar enrollment center to fill the form and update the biometric data of the children.

For those who are not in the know, UIDAI is the government authority that regulates the 12 digit Aadhaar and issues child Aadhaar cards to children below the age of five years. This card is required to get access to various welfare schemes and benefits. Also, it is mandatory as a digital photo identity proof for children from birth.

Here is the process to apply for Bal Aadhaar Card:

Phase 1. Go to the official website of UIDAI at uidai.gov.in.

Phase 2. Click on the Aadhaar Card Registration option.

step 3. Fill the mandatory information like child’s name, guardian’s phone number and other necessary biometric information related to the child and his/her parents.

step 4. The next step is to fill the demographic details including residential address, state and other details.

Step 5. Review all the details and press submit.

Step 6. Further click on the appointment option.

Step 7. Users will require supporting documents like identity proof, address proof 2, date of birth and reference number. The Aadhaar executive will carry out further processing and provide an acknowledgment number to track the application process.

Step 8. The Aadhaar card will be posted to the registered address of the user within 60 days.
