Varanasi: Customs officials succeeded in arresting a passenger on Wednesday Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport With a consignment of 697.100 grams of gold worth Rs 33,94,877 in Varanasi.
Officials said that the passenger had come from here Sharjah By flight IX184. He was returning home after four months abroad.
She was caught with gold casting in paste form and sewn into the belted part of the jeans she wore.
The total weight of gold in paste form was 770.00 gm and when it was burnt the cost of 697.100 gm of pure gold was Rs. 33,94,877 were recovered. The passenger was arrested for appearing before the Chief Judicial magistrate Court. He said that further investigation is under process.
