AAP doesn’t make false promises like other parties: Arvind Kejriwal

Party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said AAP has fulfilled its first poll promise of free electricity in Punjab as it does not make false promises like other parties. Taking to Twitter, Kejriwal said that the Punjab government will save money by eliminating corruption in the state so that it can be brought on the path of progress. AAP does what it says and does not make false promises like other parties, he congratulated Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for his government’s decision to provide free power supply to the people of the state.

An honest and patriotic government with clean intentions has come to Punjab. The Chief Minister of Delhi said that we will not let paucity of funds come in the way of progress. Earlier in the day, Mann announced 300 units of free electricity every month for every household in the state from July 1. Addressing a gathering at an event in Chandigarh, Mann also said that there would be no increase in electricity rates for industrial consumers, while free electricity to the farming community would continue.

The state’s information and public relations department advertised the announcement in various newspapers that came out on Saturday morning. Free electricity was one of the key election promises of the Aam Aadmi Party during the Punjab Assembly elections and was first announced by Kejriwal in June last year.
