ABVP march with 100 feet national flag in Srinagar on Republic Day

Srinagar:

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad on Thursday took out a march with a 100 feet long national flag from the city’s historic Lal Chowk city center on the occasion of India’s 74th Republic Day.

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists from different parts of the country marched from Sher-e-Kashmir Park to the iconic clock tower at Lal Chowk, raising slogans of ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

Tight security arrangements were made for the rally which passed off peacefully.

This is the first time that ABVP, the student wing of the RSS, has organized an event in Kashmir.

Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir unit of the BJP hoisted the tricolor at Ghantaghar as part of the Republic Day celebrations.
