A Delhi court on Monday granted bail to Omkareshwar Thakur, the alleged creator of mobile app Sully Deals, on the grounds that he was a “first time offender and a prolonged jail term may be detrimental to his overall well-being”.

Thakur was arrested earlier this year for allegedly creating an app to “auction” several Muslim women online from her home in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore. FIRs were registered against the app in Delhi and Noida.

Thakur’s arrest was made following a disclosure statement by Neeraj Bishnoi, the creator of Bulli Bai, another application created on GitHub, where several prominent Muslim women were “auctioned” this year. According to senior police officials, Bishnoi was also granted bail by the same court on Monday.
