PRAYARGAJ: On August 8, two people wanted for throwing acid on a lady bank manager were injured and arrested after a shootout with the police. Police said both were involved in throwing acid on a woman bank manager of Bank of Baroda Syed Sarwani Branch on August 8 near Chilla Shahbaji under Charva police station area of Kaushambi. The incident happened when she was going on her routine duty.

The officer claimed that at least nine people, including a former village head, were involved in the conspiracy to throw acid on the lady bank manager. He also claimed that the police were on the lookout for all the seven absconding people.
Meanwhile, the police said that the probe has revealed the handiwork of those allegedly involved in taking loans on fake documents behind the incident.
“These racketeer were looking for the victim as a hindrance to doing their job and therefore used low intensity acid (commonly used in the design of tattoos) to intimidate her,” he said.
