Actor Puneet Rajkumar dies of heart attack: Condolences

Puneeth Rajkumar, 46, one of the leading names in the Kannada film industry and the youngest of five children of Matinee Idol, Dr. Rajkumar passed away on October 29 morning after suffering a cardiac arrest. Revenue Minister R Ashok announced the actor’s demise at Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru. Puneet Rajkumar is survived by his wife Ashwini Revanth and two daughters Drithi and Vandita.

Dr. Ranganath Naik of Vikram Hospital said, “Puneet Rajkumar complained of chest pain in the morning and was taken to his family doctor’s private clinic where an ECG test was done. It showed a heart attack and he was immediately taken to Vikram Hospital. When he was brought to the hospital, there was no cardiac activity. We put him on ventilator and tried to revive him, but all efforts failed.”

Mr Ashok said the actor’s last rites would be performed on October 30 and the details would be finalized after discussions with the family. He appealed to the fans of the actor not to get emotional and maintain peace. His body will be kept at Kanteerva Stadium for public viewing.

Politicians including fellow actors Darshan, Ravichandran and Yash, filmmaker Yograj Bhat and former chief minister and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy were among those who visited the hospital.

KPCC president DK Shivakumar, who is a neighbor of the Rajkumar family, said that Puneet was fully invested in films and some hobbies. He did not bow down to the efforts to drag him towards politics.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that despite all efforts to revive the actor, he could not be saved. He said, “His family and the entire state is sad today. He achieved a lot at a young age. He called me yesterday as well and today we are going to meet to discuss the launch of the website for November 1 (Karnataka Rajyotsava). Were.” .

Condoling the demise of Puneeth Rajkumar, state BJP president and Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the actor’s untimely death has shocked people at large. Praying to God to give strength to the family members and fans to bear the loss, Mr Kateel asked people to maintain peace in this hour of grief.

An emotional Raghavendra Rajkumar told the media, “He made sure that a pacemaker is installed for me so that I can live longer. But he left before me. He has left a huge responsibility on me.”

Former CM BS Yediyurappa also said that the actor’s death is unfortunate. “He was a much-loved actor who started acting at a young age,” he added.
