Ad-free Twitter will require more subscriptions: Elon Musk

Musk posted on his Twitter account on Saturday, “Ads are too many and too big on Twitter. This would be a radical change in Twitter’s business model, which until now has relied on advertising to generate revenue.

Musk said that his strategy revenue largely outweighed costs. A new subscription service called Twitter Blue helps reach that goal. The service costs $11 per month in the United States and is available on Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android mobile operating systems, according to a page on the company’s website. Web subscriptions are also available for $8 per month or, with projects, $84 per year.

Radio Blue is currently available in USA, Canada, UK, New Zealand, Australia and Japan. A massive Twitter pulldown led by Musk, the withdrawal of restricted documents and the suspension of paparazzi critical of the billionaire in South Africa has sparked chaos.
