Adar Poonawalla’s take on booster shots against Omicron? Watch the video he shared

Adar Poonawalla shared a video made by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health

Serum Institute of India head Adar Poonawalla has shared a hilarious video in support of booster shots against the Omicron version of COVID-19. Mr Poonawalla shared a clip on Twitter on Wednesday home alone – A 1990 Christmas classic in which eight-year-old Kevin McCallister defends his home against two burglars.

The video, created by the US-based Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, shows Kevin using a ‘vaccine’ labeled Delta and Omicron to fight two thieves. While Vaccine manages to defeat the Delta version, Kevin uses a bucket (labeled “Booster” in the clip) to defeat Omicron.

“What’s going on here!?” Mr Poonawalla wrote while sharing the fun entertainment home alone,

The video has garnered over 1.2 lakh views on the microblogging platform, as well as over 5,500 ‘likes’.

Earlier this month, Adar Poonawalla Said that the Serum Institute of India was working to develop a booster shot, a more effective shot against the Omicron strain.

Based on sufficient data, it is safe to say that booster shots are a proven strategy to substantially increase antibodies, Mr. Poonawalla said.

“The message to all – and the priority – is to get two doses of the vaccine for all. This is the first step in staying protected. Only then can one increase that protection with a booster next year. The focus is on repeating the government to all.” Must stay vaccinated,” Mr Poonawalla told NDTV last month.
