Adityanath met Bhagwat; Population issue ‘discussed’, say sources

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat here on Thursday and the two leaders discussed the population issue. According to sources, Chief Minister Adityanath had taken a flight from Lucknow to meet Bhagwat and the two stayed together for about an hour.

The two had lunch together, after which the chief minister returned, he said, adding that the two discussed the issue of population. Adityanath also invited the RSS chief to the Deepotsav in Ayodhya on October 23.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Dattatreya Hosabale on Wednesday said religious conversion and migration from Bangladesh was creating “population imbalance” and called for strict enforcement of anti-conversion laws.

Bhagwat had attended a meeting of the RSS here from October 16 to 19, in which the problem of population was discussed.

The Uttar Pradesh State Law Commission presented a draft population control bill to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath last year and made several recommendations, including additional incentives to public servants to adopt the one-child norm and ban those violating the two-child policy. Was. contesting local body elections.

The recommendations were made in the 19th report on population control, stabilization and welfare. The report along with the draft of the Uttar Pradesh Population Control, Stabilization and Welfare Bill, 2021 was submitted to the Chief Minister.

But, no further action was initiated. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said that whatever issue the RSS raises is always in the interest of the nation and its concern on the problem of population will get the support of the nation.

When asked by the media in Lucknow whether the government would bring any policy on the issue of population control, Maurya said, “We will have to wait for what the government will do after meeting on this. What I am saying is my personal opinion.”

“The number of people opposing this issue is very less. There are good people in support too. Look, if 100 people start living in a house made of 10 people, then there will be problems.

A few months ago, Adityanath had said that population control programs should not be “balanced” by focusing on “native” residents, while some community growth rates remain high, a possible reference to Muslims.

He said that “population stabilization” should be the same among different classes of people, and expressed concern over the possibility of “anarchy” at some point if there is an “imbalance” in a country.

“It should not happen that the pace of population growth or percentage of a community is high and we stabilize the population of ‘Mulnivasi’ (native residents) through awareness or enforcement,” he had said.

Such a situation may have an adverse effect on religious demography and after some time “vikar” (chaos) and “anarchy” (chaos) may start in that country, the CM had said.
