The dog kept running around a certain place in the woods where the cat was stuck, this alerted the rescuers to look into that place.

This is a cheering tale of a furry companion, who aided their masters in rescuing a pussycat. The owners of a missing cat named Mowgli were losing hope of finding her after she went missing on October 20. However, almost six days later they found the kitty with the help of their dog named Daisy. The dog and cat’s owner Michele Rose, who lives in Cornwall, England, had taken Daisy on a walk through a forested area near their house in Harrowbarrow when Daisy began frantically running back and forth from a certain spot into the woods. This prompted Rose to investigate the spot that Daily was pointing to and she immediately heard meowing.

Rose realised that her cat had fallen down a deep mineshaft. Soon with the help of the animal welfare charity Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty (RSPCA) and the Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service the cat was reunited with its owner.

Recently, the Calweton Veterinary Group shared this amazing rescue story on their Facebook page as it shared pictures from the rescue operation, alongside the pictures of Daisy and Mowgli.

The Calweton Veterinary Group wrote, “Meet Mowgli who has just used one of his nine lives! After being missing for six days, Mowgli’s owners were getting very worried about him. Yesterday, whilst out on a walk, the family’s spaniel Daisie kept running to a certain place. The owner decided to follow Daisy and heard moaning coming from a mineshaft. Poor Mowgli was stuck! This morning Rspca Cornwall Branch and Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service went on a rescue mission to the mineshaft. Unbelievably, Mowgli had fallen 30 metres down. Eight fire officers used ropes to get down the mineshaft and place Mowgli in a cat basket. He was then safely lifted back up to ground level.”

The group added that after being pulled out of the mineshaft, Mowgli was brought to them for a checkout. They were surprised to see that the cat was “completely unscathed and was extremely happy to be back with his owner!.”

This post gathered over 200 likes since it was posted on October 26. Commenting on it, a Facebook user stated, “Well Done you clever dog Daisy, and a big thank you to Cornwall Fire & Rescue service, and local RSPCA for rescuing poor Mowgli.” Another wrote, “We’ll do Daisie, you deserve lots of doggy treats for your efforts! Xx.”
