AEW Double or Nothing results: CM Punk wins the World Championship, Thunder Rosa retains title

AEW has been exaggerating its marquee Double or Nothing event for several weeks now. The extraordinary sport of wrestling was headlined by several blockbuster matches and high-octane action. Double or Nothing is the culmination of some of AEW’s biggest feuds and features a packed match card. The pay-per-view event featured some of AEW’s biggest superstars including MJF, Jon Moxley and Brian Danielson. In the main event, “Hangman” Adam Page fought against CM Punk for the AEW World Title.

Here are all the highlights of all the action from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Buy-in: Hook & Danhausen vs. Tony Ness & “Smart” Mark Sterling
Huckhausen defeated Tony Ness and Mark Stirking in a buy-in match on Sunday.

Wardlow vs MJF
MJF was nearly powerbombed in the first move of the match but somehow defended the attack. But Wardlow’s attacks didn’t stop. Wardlow kicks MJF in the stomach and hits a devastating powerbomb. Instead of going for the pin, Wardlow hits a second powerbomb. Wardlow didn’t stop his barrage of Powerbombs and hit a total of 10 Powerbombs on MJF. Wardlow eventually pins MJF out of his misery.

The Hardys vs The Young Bucks
Despite the help of Brandon Cutler, The Young Bucks could not win this blockbuster match. The Bucks dominated the first half of the match, with Matt and Jeff struggling to keep up with their rivals.

As the match progressed, The Hardys got their mojo. After an intense back-and-forth battle, The Hardys won. Jeff Hardy Swanton ended the match after a Twist of Fate by Matt Hardy on Nick Jackson.

TBS Championship Match: Anna Jay vs Jade Kargil
As the match began, Kargil overwhelmed Jai with his speed and power. However, Jay retaliated with a superplex. Jay also had to deal with outside interference from The Baddies. Jay eventually lost due to interference as she was distracted by Stokely Hathaway. The distraction allowed Kargil to hit an avalanche Z and post a fine win via pinfall.

Death Triangle vs The House of Black
There was chaos in the first few minutes of the match and a brawl broke out between all the six men. After an intense back-and-forth fight, Julia Hart spits mist in Pac’s eye and prepares him for a kick from Black. Black did exactly that and ended the match with a devastating kick.

Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Final: Samoa Joe vs Adam Cole
Joe started off hard until Cole counted a charge outside the ring into a superkick. Cole made a series of holds and brutal attacks on Joe’s arm. However, Joe held himself up and counterattacked with a big power counter slam. Bobby Fish intervened and distracted Joe by attacking him. As a result, Cole hit a boom in the back of Joe’s head to register a decent win and emerge as the winner of the prestigious tournament.

Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Finals: Ruby Soho vs. Dr. Britt Baker DMD
As the high-stakes final began, Baker ruthlessly attacked Soho’s arm and rib. As a result, Soho was seen constantly clutching his ribs. After an intense back-and-forth fight, Soho tried to execute a victory roll to score the pin, but Baker reversed it into a pin and ended the match.

Six Person Tag Team Match
Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page & Paige VanZant defeated Sammy Guevara, Frankie Kazarian & Tai Conti via pinfall. Skye hits a cutter on Kazarian to propel the pin.

Darby Allin vs Kyle O’Reilly
O’Reilly won via pinfall after executing a devastating Big Knee drop from the top rope.

AEW Women’s Championship Match: Thunder Rosa vs. Serena Dibo
Thunder Rosa collided with Superplex and Fire Thunder Driver to win via pinfall.

Jericho Appreciation Society vs. Eddie Kingston, Santana, Ortiz, Brian Danielson & Jon Moxley (Chaos in the Arena)
This brutal match was not for the faint-hearted as it featured devastating moves, wild brawls, barbed wire and the threat of setting a man on fire.

In the end, The Jericho Appreciation Society won when Jericho locked Danielson in the half crab and Hagar wrapped the top rope around Danielson’s neck until Danielson was out.

AEW Tag Team Championship Match
Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus displayed impressive tag-team coordination in this high-stakes bout to retain their title.

AEW World Championship – “The Hangman” Adam Page (c) vs CM Punk
It was the marquee match of the night and it lived up to its bill. Paige started off hard and nearly executed the buckshot Lariat. But Punk dropped him from the ring apron into the ringside barricade.

As the match progressed, Punk started getting into his groove and executed a superplex. The turning point of the match was that Page accidentally dropped his own foot on the floor with a moonsault. After an exciting back-and-forth fight, Punk successfully executed the Go To Sleep and registered a decent win.
