India The U-20 men’s national team will look to register their first point against hosts Kuwait in their last match of the AFC U-20 Asian Cup Qualifier Uzbekistan 2023 at the Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium on Tuesday.
India, who are drawn in Group H, lost their first two matches against Iraq and Australia 2-4 and 1-4 respectively. With Iraq thrashing hosts Kuwait 2-0 on Monday night, India have been ruled out of the qualification scenario for the tournament, as they will go for one last storm against the hosts.

Like every other match, Kuwait will be an important match for us. The boys have played very well so far and I want them to go out with a win. They deserve it,” said head coach Shanmugam Venkatesh.
“We will go with a positive mindset and we want to get the win against Kuwait that we deserve. We will go with strong energy and try to win the last game.”
The head coach lauded the performance of the players against teams like Iraq and Australia and felt that with more performances, the Indian team could do better.
“I’m very proud of my boys. As I mentioned earlier, they have done extremely well against one of the best teams in Asia. I don’t want to say that I am giving any excuse, but the kind We had prepared, without any international exposure, the boys have done very well. The way they have fought together on the pitch is fantastic. That experience counts,” Venkatesh said.
“It is something that we have seen before, with the Indian age group and women’s teams, and I have seen it in my playing days as well. “The exposure they got has equipped them with the equipment they need to play comfortably against good Asian sides,” Venkatesh said.
