Afghanistan: Taliban thanks New Delhi for aid, says India-Afghanistan ties ‘very important’ – Times of India

Kabul: After India dispatched the first consignment of 1.6 MT of life saving drugs AfghanistanThanking New Delhi, the Taliban replied that the relationship between the two countries is “very important”.

The Ministry of External Affairs said earlier yesterday that in view of the challenging humanitarian situation in Afghanistan, the Indian government has sent a consignment of medical supplies on the return flight carrying the evacuated Indians and Afghanistan.
The special flight brought 10 Indians and 94 Afghans, including members of the Hindu-Sikh minority community, from Afghanistan to the national capital under Operation Devi Shakti as part of an evacuation mission carried out by India on Friday, the Ministry of External Affairs said.
A total of 669 people have been evacuated from Afghanistan so far under “Operation Devi Shakti”, the Ministry of External Affairs said. This includes hundreds of Indians and Afghans, including members of the Afghan Hindu/Sikh minority community.
In the month of August 2021, 565 people including 438 Indians were evacuated from Afghanistan.
