After Anand Mahindra’s Tweet On Pilots, Internet Says “Trains Are The Best”

Anand Mahindra often makes interesting tweets.

Industrialist Anand Mahindra is known for his quirky and informative tweets in which he shares life goals and other things with his followers. But on Thursday, he posted an article about a survey conducted by an NGO, which says there are dozens of pilots in the cockpit. Mr Mahindra’s tweet has garnered a lot of attention, with his followers asking the businessman to start the train journey. A study released last month also reported that most pilots admitted to dozing off in the cockpit.

In his tweet, Mr Mahindra said, “Great. That’s all I had to read before I took off.”

While some Twitter users expressed concern, others posted witty reactions to Mr Mahindra’s tweet.

One user tweeted, “Don’t worry sir… autopilot works better than real pilots… fact.” “That’s why trains are the best,” said another.

A third user said, “It’s normal and it’s called fatigue. As long as one is awake it shouldn’t be a problem.”

Incidents of pilots sleeping in the cockpits have been reported from around the world. In August, an Aviation Herald report said two Ethiopian Airlines pilots fell asleep while flying from Khartoum in Sudan to the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa and missed their landing.

Air Traffic Control (ATC) issued an alert when flight ET343 approached the airport but did not begin to land. When the pilots fell asleep, the Boeing 737’s autopilot system kept the plane cruising at 37,000 feet, the outlet continued.

When the plane crossed the runway where it was supposed to land, the autopilot disconnected. This raised the alarm, which woke the pilots.
