After criticizing AAP, Congress, Gujarat minister Vaghani clarified his statement on education

Facing criticism for his remarks about the education system in Gujarat, Minister Jitu Vaghani on Thursday said he has respect for the state and its people, and his comments were targeted at those who ” want to spread chaos and disorder”.

Vaghani had courted controversy on Wednesday when he said that those who have problems with Gujarat’s education system can take leave certificates of their children and go to other states. The BJP minister holds the education department.

Vaghani issued a clarification after opposition Congress and AAP had strongly criticized the BJP minister over his comments and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who also holds the education portfolio, tweeted about the remarks on Thursday.

“My message was targeted at those who want to create chaos and disorder in the state. I don’t need any certificate to respect Gujarat and its people.

“The comment was against those who talk against the country and against Gujarat, who ask for proof of surgical strikes and increase the confidence of terrorists, who work only for vote bank politics and who only work for Gujarat. And indulge in defaming Gujarat. country,” he said.

Vaghani had said, “Those who do not like schooling in Gujarat, they should take the certificates of their children and instead of criticizing the state or country they prefer, the state where they live and Grown up, should go there.” Reacting to the comments, Sisodia in a tweet said that there is no need for people to leave Gujarat as his party AAP will come to power in the state and provide Delhi-like education.

“A minister from Gujarat threatened people that if they want better education they should leave Gujarat and move to Delhi. Even after 27 years of rule, BJP has not been able to improve the education system. People need not leave Gujarat, they will bring AAP to power and they will be provided with a wonderful education system like Delhi.

In response, Vaghani said everyone has the right to dream, referring to AAP’s claim of coming to power in BJP-ruled Gujarat, where assembly elections are due later this year.

“Everyone has the right to dream. But their dreams will remain dreams. The people of Gujarat know the difference between those who want to spread anarchy and those who give real development.

State Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi also targeted the BJP minister, calling him “uneducated”.

“The education minister of Gujarat should be given education first. He needs education. He is commenting like someone uneducated,” Doshi said.
